Why use Bolster Payments?
Eliminate Payments Delays
Traditional construction payments often take weeks and involve disputes, paperwork, and back-and-forth with customers. Bolster automates the process—saving you time and reducing stress.
Integrated with Your Projects
Payments are tied directly to your project’s tasks and milestones. Once work is completed and approved, a payment request is automatically sent to your client.
Flexible Payments Options
Your customers can pay by credit card, debit card, or secure bank transfer. After their first payment, future payments are just one click away.
Choose How You Want to Bill
Bolster gives you flexibility in how you collect payments so you can work the way that best suits your projects and clients:
-
Rolling Basis: clients pay only for approved items / tasks as work progresses. This way, disputed items / tasks won’t delay payment for the rest of the project.
-
Percentage-Based Payments: collect payments in stages based on a percentage of the total project cost. This provides clients with a clear, structured breakdown.
-
Stage-Based Payments: align payments with specific project milestones. Once a stage is complete and approved, payment is requested.
- Phase-Based Payments: divide larger projects into phases and request payment at the end of each phase for simpler tracking.
No matter which option you choose, Bolster automates the process so your payment requests are clear, professional, and easy for clients to pay.
How Payments work with your Projects
- Task Completion – When a team member or subcontractor finishes a task, they mark it as completed.
- Contractor Approval – You review the work and mark it as approved.
- Payment Request – Bolster automatically sends a payment request to your customer’s Client Portal.
- Online Payment – Your client approves work done & pays securely online, and Bolster updates the project’s payment status instantly.
Payment Request Flow
- Estimate Approved – Once your customer approves the estimate, the scope is set to “Approved.”
- Work Completion – Mark the task as “Completed” when it’s done.
- Approvals – Review and approve for quality assurance.
- Customer Payment – Bolster automatically sends the payment request to the Client Portal. Your client pays online, and the progress updates to “Paid.”
This process means you get paid earlier—throughout the project—rather than waiting for everything to be finished.
The Client Portal Experience
Your clients get a simple, professional payment experience:
- Transparency – they see exactly which items are complete and approved.
- Easy Payments – they can approve & pay with their saved card or bank details in seconds.
- Project Tracking – they can check what’s been paid and what’s still outstanding at any time.
This builds trust, avoids surprises, and makes paying you easier than ever.
