Overview
Task items let you add action-based line items to your estimate, such as apply for a permit or order materials, so you can track and assign work to contractors, vendors, or other personnel.
Before You Begin
- Identify the task you want to add and who it should be assigned to (e.g., a contractor or vendor).
- In your Estimate, click the Plus Item button.
- Scroll down to More, then select Task.
- Once added, the item will display with a check mark symbol, identifying it as a task item.
- Name the task item appropriately (for example, Apply for Permit or Order Materials).
- Assign the task item as needed.
Tips & Best Practices
- Use Clear Naming: Give your task item a descriptive name so it's easy to identify what needs to be done.
Why This Matters
- Lets you track action items directly within your estimate and assign them to contractors, vendors, or other personnel as needed.
Summary
Adding a task item lets you include action-based items, like applying for a permit or ordering materials, in your estimate by adding a Task item, naming it, and assigning it as needed.
