Overview
When you save pre-built items to your catalog for future use, it's a good idea to organize them into categories as you save them. You can choose which catalog category an item is saved to from the item's Production settings.
Open the Item
- In the left-hand menu, click Jobs.
- Click Job list and select the estimate. You can also click Pipeline and select it from there.
- In the estimate, click the cube icon next to the item you want to save. The item window opens.
Choose the Catalog Category
- Scroll down and click Production.
- Scroll down to the last setting, Where do you want this to be saved in your catalog?, and click the dropdown.
- Select one of the existing categories in your catalog (for example, Drywall & Insulation).
- To add a new category instead, click the black + icon in the top right corner of the list.
- To save the item to your catalog, click Add to catalog at the top of the item window.
Why This Matters
- Organizing items into categories as you save them keeps your catalog easy to use for future estimates.
Summary
To set the category an item is saved to, open the item with the cube icon, go to Production, and under Where do you want this to be saved in your catalog?, select an existing category or click the black + icon to add a new one. Then add the item to your catalog.
