Overview
By integrating a custom color selection directly into your proposal, you can give your clients a more interactive and personalized experience. This is especially useful for items like paint, where clients can choose from a wide range of colors. Bolster includes pre-built Fandexes from both Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams, which you can attach directly to a paint line item so clients can pick a color name or number themselves.
Before You Begin
- Identify the line item you want to attach a Fandex to (for example, a line item called Paint).
- Navigate to the estimate you're working on and click + Add Item.
- In this example, add an item called Paint.
- Click the cube icon next to the item to open its settings.
- Expand the Sales, Optionality and Upgrades dropdown menu.
- Scroll down and select Paint Color.
- Once selected, the client is offered both the Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams Fandexes to choose from.
On the client-facing proposal, your customer can select either Fandex and search for a color by name or number using the search bar above the color options.
Tips & Best Practices
- Clear Naming: Give the item a descriptive name so clients understand what they're selecting.
- Testing: Preview the proposal from the client's perspective to confirm the Fandex selection tool is working correctly.
Why This Matters
- Lets clients browse and select real paint colors from Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams directly within the proposal, rather than relying on a generic or manually entered color choice.
Summary
Adding a pre-built Fandex to a line item lets clients pick a paint color by name or number from either the Benjamin Moore or Sherwin-Williams Fandex, by selecting Paint Color under Sales, Optionality and Upgrades in the item's settings.
