Overview
Auto-complete uses Bolster's construction intelligence to fill in the pricing for an individual line item in your estimate. Prices come from AutoCost. Type the item you want pricing for and let auto-complete fill in the details.
Add a Line Item With Auto-complete
- In the left-hand menu, click Jobs.
- Click Job list and select the estimate. You can also click Pipeline and select it from there.
- Below your line items, click + Item. A new line is added.
- Start typing the item you want pricing for (for example, Shingles).
- In the list that appears, click Auto-complete. A message shows that Bolster is filling in details for the item.
- When it's done, a message describes what the item includes (for example, "Includes supply and installation of asphalt shingles for roofing. Flashing, vents, and underlayment are separate.").
Review the Filled-In Line Item
- The line item shows the material cost and labor cost per unit (for example, per square foot).
- The quantity has a linked dimension, so you can use it in calculations or in other areas of Bolster.
Why This Matters
- You can price line items without looking up material and labor costs yourself.
- Each auto-completed item comes with a description of what it includes and excludes.
Summary
To use auto-complete, open your estimate, click + Item, start typing the item you want pricing for, and click Auto-complete. Bolster fills in the item's description, material cost and labor cost per unit from AutoCost, and adds a linked dimension you can use in calculations.
