Overview
The Takeoff tab lets you manually enter measurements, for example from a site measurement, for the dimensions in your estimate. The quantities you enter flow into the estimate. To use it, your estimate items must use linked dimensions, which connect the estimate to the takeoff.
Before You Begin
- Set up your estimate with linked dimensions. Linked dimensions are what link your estimate to the takeoff.
Enter Dimensions Manually in the Takeoff Tab
- In the left-hand menu, click Jobs.
- Click Job list and select the estimate. You can also click Pipeline and select it from there.
- In the estimate's left sidebar, click Takeoff.
- Click the job root bar at the top (for example, Deck Takeoff Test (job root)) to open it. It shows the dimensions you can enter, such as Railing Length, Deck Area, and Fence/wall length.
- In the Quantity field next to each dimension, enter the measurement.
The dimensions or quantities you enter are carried into the estimate.
Why This Matters
- You can enter site measurements in one place and have them carried into your estimate.
- Linked dimensions connect your estimate to the takeoff, so the quantities you enter update the estimate accordingly.
Summary
To enter dimensions manually, make sure your estimate uses linked dimensions, then open the estimate and click Takeoff. Open the job root bar, enter a quantity for each dimension, and the values are carried into the estimate.
